Happy Six
My third born child turned 6 three days ago. We asked her what her top 5 hopes were for a gift on her birthday a few days prior. We all sat around the table, my other children wide-eyed in anticipation, waiting for her reponse. After thinking it over very carefully she said she would like a black remote control car with red flames down the side! We were somewhat suprised and couldn't help but giggle at the request from our lovely spit-fire princess. So my husband found a steal of a deal on Craiglist...a still in the box remote control Hummer jeep. Even though it wasn't black with red flames, she was very happy to decorate it with jewels and the hot glue gun(this activity was supervised by an adult).

I have been teaching my little pre-schooler all about letters this year, and yes we are still stuck on the letter"C". She insists that she doesn't know how to write the letter "C", but this dear picture would surely prove otherwise:
The letter "C" keeps popping up all over the house, including an ink drawn "C" on her bed sheet! She insists that it is not the letter "C" but "it is a bridge!" So for now we are drawing bridges that say KAH.

Busy days
My lack of posting for over a month has been due to various things...start of school, teething baby, the state fair stand that keeps us on our toes for 2+ weeks in August, and my wisdom teeth extraction! As our lives resume back to normal tomorrow, God willing, I hope to be able to write a little more.
Is it really September 14th tomorrow...?!

Anniversary #9
August 10th, my husband and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. After surprising me Saturday with a babysitter and dinner out, we decided no more dinner out!
So on our actual anniversary I thought and thought about what I could do for my husband. We don't really like spending money on gifts for each other, so I decided I would make him a nice dinner. To make it a little more special, I fed the kids first. The kids were super excited because I made them macaroni and cheese out of the box, which they never get. Then I told them they could watch a video while we ate...their gift to us. I had even planned on them watching the baby, but she was a little too fussy so she joined us. I made t-bone steak, baked potato, sauted summer squash with parmasean and a salad. I set our places outside on the porch, turned on the radio, used our fancy dishes and opened a bottle of wine. It was awesome. The kids were so good and got themselves ready for bed while we finished up the dishes. I think it was one of our cheapest and most enjoyable anniversary's yet! We will definately do it again. I had to add this picture of our little dinner guest who kept herself quite amused with the steak bone and empty dressing bottle.
Thank you Lord for these wonderful nine years of marriage, I pray you bless us with many more...

Hoppy Summer
When Summer comes at our house, the tights and socks don't get packed away...

...They become bunny costumes (usually there are two more socks on the hands).
Happy hopping, but please wear your shoes outside!
Angelic Sleep
This picture reminds me of one of my favorite children's books, My Little Book About GOD by Jane Werner Watson and illustrated by Eloise Wilkin:

After such a fussy night, she finally fell asleep in the warm strong hug of her daddy's arms. As I watched her sleep and look so prayerful I wondered if we were aided by her Guardian Angel or maybe she was comforted by her perfect Heavenly Mother, Mary. Whoever was at our sides that night, I was thankful for her final surrender to the land of Wynken, Blynken, and Nod.

" For GOD IS LOVE. God is the love of our mother's kiss, the warm strong hug of our daddy's arms."
